How long is the shelf life?
Last Updated: 11/17/2009
This depends partly on how long the product was in transit and/or the retailer handled our product. We don't add any preservatives, so our rolls are best kept frozen until preparing for consumption. As with any natural food product, heat and moisture accelerate spoilage. Here are some rules of thumb:
  • At room temperature (68°-72°F), our rolls will be fine for 3 days.
  • Refrigerated, you have less than 30 days.
  • Frozen, a well-wrapped roll may be kept  for 6 months and it will maintain its moist, fresh taste.
During months when shipping temperatures exceed 90°F, immediate consumption and/or refrigeration upon receipt are imperative to mitigate the chances of spoilage.

Due to freshness, we offer only shipping methods that take 3 days or less in transit.  Furthermore, we ship only M-W to eliminate weekend layovers. We will ship on Thursday or Friday only via expedited methods that eliminate the possibility of a weekend layover.    (Please call if you want a non-expedited shipment over the weekend.  Any such shipments will not be covered under our Satisfaction Guarantee with regard to spoilage.) We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our western customers.
